Car-O-Liner's AW-Tong has been approved by BMW as an optional accessory for all CTR9 systems, giving bodyshops greater flexibility while keeping them aligned with strict OEM repair standards.
The approval marks another step forward for Car-O-Liner's joining and heating technology, which is already trusted in modern collision repair environments.
The AW-Tong is a fully automatic, water-cooled welding gun designed for use with the CTR9 resistance spot welder. According to Car-O-Liner product information, it offers thickness measurement, a narrow electrode gap for tighter spaces, straightforward mounting and a force output of 450 daN. Its water-cooling system supports a longer duty cycle, while its ergonomic, lightweight design is intended to improve handling and reduce operator strain.
For repairers, BMW approval matters because it provides reassurance that the equipment meets the manufacturer's requirements for high-quality structural repairs. In practical terms, that should mean consistent weld quality, faster set-up and dependable performance on BMW jobs.
For workshops focused on efficiency, compliance and confidence in the repair process, the AW-Tong's new status makes it a notable addition to the CTR9 platform.
