Hino SA Honoured for Aftersales Excellence

Hino South Africa received two global awards for service and parts excellence, reinforcing its leadership in aftersales support.

Recognition in the automotive world often extends beyond vehicle sales, and Hino South Africa has once again demonstrated the importance of aftersales support in sustaining customer trust.

At a recent global distributor function in Japan, Hino Motors Limited (HML) awarded Hino SA two prestigious accolades for 2025: the Excellence Award in the Service Distributor of the Year category and Distributor of the Year in the Parts Distributor section.

This achievement underscores the critical role of service and parts operations in the commercial vehicle industry. For the 13th time in 14 years, Hino SA has met HML’s demanding criteria, which include customer experience ratings, workshop throughput, profitability, and parts supply efficiency. Each distributor is scored monthly, with a minimum annual score of 80% required to qualify.

The awards highlight Hino’s adherence to its global Total Support philosophy, which prioritises maximising vehicle uptime, reducing ownership costs, and ensuring “fix-it-right-first-time” service delivery. In practical terms, this means maintaining strong workshop performance, reliable parts availability, and competitive pricing — all essential pillars of the auto repair and maintenance sector.

Anton Falck, Vice President of Hino SA, emphasised the company’s consistent performance in South Africa’s Datatrack quarterly customer care survey. “We were again in first position in Q1 2026 in the combined ranking for sales, service, and parts with a total of 99.69, well above the national average of 95.76,” he said. This marks the 12th consecutive quarter since Q1 2023 that Hino has held the top spot, based on feedback from 30,000 local truck operators.

For repair professionals and fleet operators alike, Hino’s success illustrates how sustained investment in aftersales service and parts management can secure long-term customer loyalty and industry recognition.
